A IS FOR AWARENESS.
If life isn’t working out the way you’d like it to be, the first step towards changing it is having awareness and developing awareness takes a certain amount of courage.
But don’t we all have awareness, naturally ‘built in’, from birth onwards I hear you ask.
Yes we do, but sadly our awareness can become skewed and somewhat distorted or muddled as life progresses.
For many people, when their natural awareness brings things to mind and it sometimes uncomfortable feelings, they’ve learnt to bury it, not think about it or avoid it. It’s no wonder the alcohol industry always flourishes! Alcohol is great for dulling down our awareness – not recommended if you seek more peace, contentment and happiness in your life.
Our awareness is a wonderful mechanism to help us determine what we’ve learnt (and been taught) that does, or doesn’t work for us. As our likes and dislikes and our values change over the years, many of the things that worked well for us in childhood and our younger years no longer feel good and we can develop a type of angst. If we’re fully aware, we recognise the discomfort and seek ways to change.
So how do we develop clear, undimmed awareness?
MEDITATION is the best, most proven practice to help us develop a peaceful mind, in turn leading to precise, sharper awareness.
Spending time simply being quiet and observing our thoughts and feelings can bring more awareness of who we are, our ingrained beliefs and how we operate in our world. Training your mind with Mindfulness practices, focusing on each present moment, can bring a sense of heightened awareness and peace.
Learning to quieten your mind creates space for awareness and Every Day Gets Better. ❤️
